You know those stories about those couples who met on the bus in the third grade, lost touch and then reunited years later only to fall fast in love and live happily ever after?
Megan & Nick are that couple.
No joke - they first met in third grade at St. Christopher’s Elementary in Buffalo, NY. They became good friends over the next five years and even took a “once in a lifetime” class trip to the Nation’s Capital… (insert eery foreshadowing music here)
The next 10 years included Megan moving to North Carolina for college and Nick working on his career in theatre after college. Nick secured a job with a nationally-traveling, award-winning audiovisual and production company.
On his first trial run with the company, Nick made his way to Washington DC, coincidentally the same town that Megan moved to post-college. Being the technology guru Nick is, he knew Megan was living in DC via Facebook and on a whim reached out to her. Megan thought it was weird but remembered how fun Nick was in elementary school so agreed to meet up.
After accidentally giving Nick the wrong cell phone number, they met up in Chinatown (on a school night) and have been inseparable ever since…
They will say their vows at St. Joseph's Cathedral and then chow (and toast!) at the new Hotel Henry in Buffalo, NY later this month. We had the pleasure of traveling with them to Buffalo for a planning trip and learned why they love their hometown so very much. The wedding will incorporate several nods to the city, as did their engagement session with the oh-so-talented Amanda Lynn Photography.
